running and cycling mostly, with some skiing and other sports for good measure
I am an elite trail runner and cyclist who also mixes in other mountainous adventures like skiing along the way. Most notably, I am a two time winner and previous course record holder at the Leadville Silver Rush 50 mile run and podiumed in my debut 100 mile race at the 2022 Leadville Trail 100 run. The Grand Traverse, Broken Arrow, San Tan Scramble, Deadhorse Ultra, Run Through Time, and Behind the Rocks Ultra are examples of other races where I’ve had top finishes. I am currently building my cycling resume with a notable podium finish at 2025 The Rad Dirtfest.
My own story has been full of unexpected obstacles and setbacks that, quite frankly, might cause many athletes to quit sport altogether if they encountered a small fraction of. After graduating from Western Colorado University where I ran for the trail running team I went to inpatient treatment for a severe eating disorder. Several months in treatment, having the world’s best coach, dietitian, and therapist and my own commitment to recovery even in uncertainty were what eventually led to running my fastest times to date and signing my first professional running contract. While I was riding that high and feeling as if I’d finally made it out of the woods, my athletic world crumbled when I felt a slight twinge of pain in my hip that an MRI would reveal to be two full fractures in my pelvis. Unknowingly, I had an endocrine system shit storm brewing under the surface that caused the next two years to be full of pelvic fractures than you can count on your fingers and your toes, horrifically low bone density scan results, baffling bloodwork results, and appointments out the wazoo with the best bone health specialists I could find. Some of those specialists told me I might never be able to walk for more than 30 minutes for the next five years and others told me that my bones “might just be too far gone.” With the help of my amazing support team, though, we also found a doctor who didn’t think my story was over. In the last year, I’ve been able to take MRI and bone density (DXA) scan results that were worse than the top coaches and doctors had ever seen and turn those into the biggest bone density improvements that those experts have ever seen.
I value coaching the whole person and supporting athletes in chasing their dreams without sacrificing on what they value, athletically and in the rest of life. I work with athletes of all abilities, at all ages, and with a wide variety of reasons for being in sport. Though my athlete roster is not limited by athlete background in any way, I have a unique skill set for coaching athletes with eating disorder histories or bone health challenges (as straight forward or complex as they come).
I am passionate about helping high level athletes get access to eating disorder treatment that ultimately aids them in the pursuit of athletic and life potential. Find out more about this on the “Mentorship” page.
